Please see report below from the Ladies and Mens Final.

Current 2-time Cambridgeshire Champion, Sammy Chambers and previous 3-time winner from 2002 Galen Le Cheminant produced the best county final in memory when they met in the showpiece match. In front of a packed house at the newly refurbished Cambridge Squash Club 18yr old Chambers came back from a two game deficit against the former National 035 finalist to secure his 3rd Accio sponsored county title in a row. It was a welcome return to the courts for both players with Chambers re-turning from a 5 month injury layoff and a 2 year period away from county squash for his older oppo-nent. The final was a clash of styles with the highly deceptive front court game of "Chem", making Chambers cover all 4 corners in the hope that he could pressure his younger opponent into a straight games defeat before his own fitness gave out. The game plan seemed to be working but the 2-set lead had been hard won with Chambers lengthening the rallies and returning more of "Chem‟s" trick-ery. This resulted in Chambers pulling the match back to 2-2, in the final set with the likelyhood of victory slipping away, "Chem" clawed his way back to 9-9. Both players were fighting for every rally, which eventually pushed the game to 11-11. A final pulsating burst of energy saw Chambers come away with victory over the more experienced Le Cheminant, much to the delight of the crowd. A standing ovation was given to both players for producing a great final played out in a won-derful competitive spirit. In the Ladies Final No1 seed and WISPA tour player Carrie Hastings won her 4th County title against 2nd seed Master‟s player Julia Dolman. The younger quicker Hastings was always odds on for victory and wrapped up a straight forward 3 set vic-tory against a hardworking oppo-nent who showed flashes of the attacking approach that had se-cured her place in the final
